The look-ahead buffer should only be disabled in specialised applications where the majority of I/O is random and look ahead would not be beneficial. The write-back cache should only be disabled if data is paramount or the system is prone to power loss that would prevent the cache to flush.
Fix: You may need to use a specific utility for the drive downloadable from the manufacturerΓÇÖs website to enable or disable these settings. Some advanced controllers allow you to set such settings also.
